1. Below is a list of general information that we always post for our customer’s information and consideration. Some of these notes may or may not apply to your particular situation or home project.
2. –ZECKA CREW: We have a crew of 6 experienced handymen and we can get your tasks accomplished in a very timely and efficient manner.
3. -PARKING & KEYS: If applicable, we will need a key to the unit, an elevator key, and a parking spot if available.
4. If we find additional repairs: As we conduct our approved repairs as noted in our estimate, there might be additional repairs that will pop up. If the customer does not request, or want an estimate, and a verbal “Go ahead” is given by our customer, we will complete the additional repairs and adjust the final invoice. If a written estimate is requested, we will note those items that are in need of repair, we will submit an estimate for those repairs to our customer, discuss the repairs and options with our customer, and if approved we will complete the additional repairs with the final invoice adjusted with the additional materials, labor, and tax included on the final invoice.
5. Materials used on exterior repairs: We only use pressure treated exterior grade lumber and galvanized or stainless steel fasteners on all of our exterior repairs.
6. Our estimate: Our estimate is good for 30 days and it is given in good faith and does not account for unforeseen problems while completing the service. Any change to the work order after the client has accepted the estimate might raise the cost of the work. If our customer requests a change, it will be completed in writing whenever possible, however, if the customer does not request, or want an estimate for the additional work, we will complete the repairs if a verbal “Go ahead” is given by our customer. Also, any significant increase in cost to the customer will be discussed with the customer prior to the continuance and/or completion of the work.
7. Billing procedure: We now have the capability to accept credit cards (In person only, not over the phone) but there is a 4% additional charge for that service. The additional 4% is only what the credit card service charges us and we do not make any additional profit from this service. We do accept cash or check with no additional charge. Once we get approval from the owner that we can start work, we might request one half down payment prior to the start of the work. Also, depending on the cost of the job, we might also request progress payments. If we do ask for progress payments, we will ask for ¼ progress payment when approximately ½ of the work is complete, and once our work is complete, and our work is inspected by our customer, we will submit a final invoice and expect to receive final payment within one week of submitting the final invoice to businesses, and immediately upon receiving the bill from residential customers.
8. Estimates, Labor, Costs, and materials: ZECKA Home Improvement Inc. provides a free one hour estimate if requested. We do not waste time and we will complete your projects in a timely and efficient manner. We have the knowledge and experience to complete every task that you have so that you will not have to call a: plumber, electrician, painter, drywall repairman, mason, roofer, tile repairman, or floor installer, etc…because we can complete all of these types of repairs. We have a crew of six experienced handy men that can do it all quickly and efficiently and that will save you money. “If you can imagine it, we can do it.” It never hurts, or costs, you to request an estimate from us. We charge $55 per man hour for most all tasks, except for flooring and tile work, and those types of jobs are performed by a fee per square foot. We bill for all costs and materials used during the conduct and completion of your projects.
9. Paint, paint matching, and painting: Painting is not included in our estimates unless it is specifically noted in the estimate. We will use the customers paint if it is on hand and if it is available. If no paint is available from the customer, we will take a sample and attempt to match paint at the store. It will usually match closely but the store purchased match is rarely exact because the painted surface has often aged, is sun worn, dirty, not the correct gloss, etc… We will need to discuss how you want us to conduct your painting repairs. We always leave the left over and remaining paint at the customer’s home for future use as needed and we maintain a copy of the paint formula tag on our customer’s folder for future use.
10. Dust: We will do our best to limit the amount of dust that we create during all projects at your home. However, please be aware that dust is very fine and some dust will escape during this repair process. We will install a plastic barrier around our work whenever possible so that we can contain as much of the dust as possible. We will place plastic around our repairs, and we will cover furniture with plastic as necessary. We will clean up our work site as we conduct our work, as well as, after our work is complete. For dusty projects, you might need to hire a cleaning crew after these repairs are completed.
11. Lunch break: We usually take a lunch break of 30 minutes and we do not bill our customers during our lunch break.
12. Material mark up: We never charge a mark up on materials. The total that we pay for your materials is what we charge you.
13. Clean up and disposal of debris: We will clean up as we work and at the end of each day, we will take all construction debris with us and we will dispose of all construction debris at the dump.
